A room that smells like the forest.
Fifty-four rooms, suites, and standalone cabins tucked into the old growth on the Salmon River. Wood stoves, deep porches, and a bed you will be sorry to leave in the morning.
Built from fir, warmed by fire.
When Nathan and Claire Vance restored the lodge between 2012 and 2015, they kept the timber bones and let every room look out on something worth waking up to: the river, the firs, or the mountain over the tree line. Nothing here is generic. Each room was made to feel like the best cabin you have ever borrowed.
Four ways to stay the night.
From a snug lodge room to a cabin of your own, every stay includes breakfast, robes, and the run of the resort.

The Lodge
Lodge Room
Our snug starting room in the heart of the old lodge. A queen or king bed under wool blankets, fir-paneled walls, a rain shower, and a window that opens to the sound of the firs. Steps from the great room hearth and the breakfast table.
Sleeps 2 · forest or courtyard view
From $285 per night

The Lodge
River-View Suite
A larger suite along the water, with a king bed, a sitting area by the window, and a soaking tub set where you can watch the river go by. Coffee on the balcony in the morning, the sound of the current all night. Our most-requested room for a reason.
Sleeps 2 to 3 · private balcony over the river
From $425 per night

Standalone
The Cabins
A cabin of your own, set back in the trees for quiet. A real wood stove with the first split laid ready, a deep covered porch for the rain, a full bath, and a little kitchenette for late coffee. Bring the dog, bring the family, stay a week and lose track of the days.
Sleeps 4 · wood stove, porch, kitchenette
From $495 per night

Signature
The Vance Suite
The top-floor corner suite and the finest room at The Cascara. A stone fireplace, a king bed under the eaves, a soaking tub for two, and a wraparound deck where the mountain stands over the tree line at dawn. Named for the couple who brought the lodge back by hand.
Sleeps 2 · fireplace, wraparound deck, mountain view
From $650 per night

The small comforts, seen to.
We would rather do a few things properly than list a hundred amenities you will never use. Every stay is built around slowing down: a fire to tend, a porch to sit on, a robe waiting on the hook, and a breakfast worth getting up for.
Wood stoves
Cabins come with a real wood stove and the first split laid ready to light.
Deep porches
Covered porches and balconies made for the rain and the long light.
Robes & slippers
Waffle robes and slippers in every room, for the walk to the spa or the porch.
Breakfast included
A hot mountain breakfast every morning, coffee roasted down the valley.
