Our kitchens buy from the valley below the mountain: chanterelles from the forest floor, steelhead from the river, berries and stone fruit from Hood River orchards. What grows and swims nearby is what ends up on the plate.

The Rivergrass sits in the oldest part of the lodge, under the 1928 stone hearth that Nathan and Claire Vance kept when they restored the place. Everything comes off the open fire: whole trout, dry-aged beef, root vegetables buried in the coals until they go sweet. Chef Renata Solis writes the menu the morning it is served, so it moves with the season and the weather on the mountain.
It is the kind of dinner you settle into. Order a bottle from the Willamette Valley, watch the light leave the firs, and let the courses come slowly.

Down the hall and a world away, the Salmon Tavern is where you land after eighteen holes or a day on the river. Muddy boots are fine. There is a fire going most nights, a shuffleboard table in the corner, and twelve Oregon taps that rotate with whatever the local breweries are pouring.
The food is honest and generous: a proper burger, a basket of hand-cut fries, chowder that could stand in for dinner. Come as you are, stay as long as you like.

Tell us which room you would like and when. We hold most tables at the Rivergrass and take the guesswork out of a big group. The Salmon Tavern is walk-in, but we are glad to save space for parties of six or more.
